Truth to the Heart | TEDxMahidolU

“No matter how many wounds from relationships we carry with us, everyone has the right to be loved and well cared for.”

As a lawyer providing counsel to survivors of domestic and intimate partner violence (IPV), Best-Busayapa Srisompong (Director and Founder of SHero Thailand) shared a powerful perspective on the TEDxMahidolU stage under the topic “Truth to the Heart”.

This talk invites everyone to dismantle societal myths by demonstrating that over 90% of intimate partner violence does not manifest through physical abuse alone, but is hidden beneath the iceberg in the form of “Coercive Control”. This gradually deprives individuals of their decision-making power, causing many people to lose confidence in themselves and become trapped in a cycle of relationship from which it is difficult to step out.
